A former Chairman of the Federal House of Representatives Committee on Security and Intelligence Aminu Sani Jaji has declared that zoning presidency to any part of the country in 2023 is a clear breach of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The former lawmaker who doubled as the National Coordinator of “Buhari for All” make his position known while interacting with journalists shortly after flagging off of distribution of food items to over 5000 beneficiaries on behalf of the organization in Gusau on Monday.

He said the constitution of Nigeria has not made any provision for zoning and as such those agitating for zoning in the Nigeria’s political arrangement may be enemies of this nation.

“The law is clear everybody from any part of the country is free to contest for any post including that of president, and it is an act of patriotism for anyone to agitate for zoning of the presidency to any part of Nigeria”.

Nigerians should be allowed deciding who emerged in 2023 based on the popular decision not based on the sentiment of very few individuals who feels they are mightier than over 200 million people.

He saluted President Muhammad Buhari for allowing every political opinion to count in the APC noting that when the time come citizens would take the lead in deciding the future of this country.

On the insinuation that Muhammad Buhari may exit with the APC the former lawmaker said, he has contrary views noting that, “off course Muhammad Buhari is a platform, but his popularity is adding a heavyweight in to the capacity of the APC.

“ I don’t agree with that idea that Buhari is exiting with the APC. The party would surely survive beyond Buhari since he has grown it maturely.
