Governor of Kebbi State Muhammad Nasir Idris has stated that he is not aware that Governors have met to disagree on the payment of new minimum wage.
The Governor who spoke to BBC Hausa service on Wednesday insisted that, even if such a meeting was held, he was not part of it.
He said the position of the Kebbi State government remains that once an agreement is reached between the Federal government and labour unions, his administration will pay without any hesitation.
He urged the federal government and indeed the labor unions to shift their grounds so that a common consensus can be reached for the workers to begin to enjoy the minimum wage.
He noted that since he was part of the labour movement before he became a Governor he had to mediate to ensure that a win-win situation been achieved.
