Beacon security and intelligence limited has released a recent report which indicated that banditry and other forms of criminality in Nigeria has reduced by 1.6 percent in December 2024.
The consulting firm reported that a total of (708) people were killed in Nigeria, (674) others were abducted and another (671) died of one form of criminality or the other.
The report further states that despite the reduction in the banditry and other forms of criminally, Nigeria’s North West and North East remain the most unsafe zones for Nigerians.
The report also states that the fight against armed bandits by the Nigerian government has helped significantly in reducing the excesses of criminal activities in the country
But it suggests that, To end the whole problem, there is a strong need to address the long-term cause of the problem, especially the collapse of the economy a d environmental degradation.
