Some suspected terrorists attacked the advance team of President Muhammadu Buhari who were on their way to Daura preparing for the Presidential visit ahead of Ed-el Kabir celebration.
The composition of the people in the convoy include, media crew, security guards and people from the protocol department.
They were reportedly attacked along Dutsinma-Katsina highway and the gunmen reportedly opened fire on the convoy where two people sustained injuries.
Garba Shehu one of the Presidential Spokespersons confirmed the incident via a press statement issued on Tuesday.
Few hours before the attack on the Presidential convoy, Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Dutsinma Area Command Aminu Umar was ambushed and killed by some suspected gunmen while on operation at a village called Yauni in Zakka district of Safana local government.
