
Suspected gunmen armed with deadly weapons have launched an attack on the people of Kabasa community in Magamin Maitarko area of Gusau the capital of Zamfara State.
A resident who confided on this source said the gunmen who were more than two hundred arrived in the community around 6:00pm on Tuesday and started firing gunshots sporadically.

He said though on alerting the military formation at Magami the soldiers responded, they could not repel the attack due to the large number of the bandits and the sophisticated weapons they were carrying.
After hours of exchange of fire according to the source, a soldier and one other civilian were killed while another soldier died while on admission at the Magami General Hospital.
He further told this medium that, four civilians are currently on admission at the Magami hospital.
Asked what may be the cause of the attack the source said, three weeks back same bandits attempted to invade the village but the soldiers from Magami repel the attack and killed many bandits before they were forced out of the village.

He said they may have secure more re-enforcement and relaunched the Tuesday’s attack again.
In a public announcement issued by Zamfara State Commissioner for Information Ibrahim Magaji Dosara said the government has already directed security agencies in the state to carry out a full investigation into the incident and report back to the government for action.
Dosara further said, the standing committee for the assessment of damages constituted by the state government has been instructed to visit the community to assess the level of damages inflicted on the community.
“People of the affected community in particular and the state in general, are also advised to remain law-abiding and go about their normal businesses.
