IBCON Global Resources has constructed a police outstation at Anguwar Shado/Yandorayi in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara as part of the company’s personal commitment to promoting community policing.
The outstation was officially commissioned by the state Police Commissioner Mr. Abutu Yaro on behalf of the Inspector General of Police in Gusau on Monday.
In his remarks during the commissioning ceremony, Zamfara Police Commissioner Mr. Abutu Yaro commended the donor for their contribution which he described as something that will boost the morale of the officers and men in enhancing security vigilance in Zamfara state.
He said the donation of a police outpost by IBCON is a clear demonstration of the fact that people have accepted the community policing initiative of the IGP and they are contributing to its successes.
He called on the well-to-do individuals to always support the police through initiatives of such nature for them to operate effectively.
After the commissioning the CP deployed DSP Gambo Isah to take charge of the new station and also deployed some senior police officers as well as ranks and file officers.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of the Company Alhaji Sani Muktar said that the construction of the Police station was part of their civic responsibility to complement the efforts of the state government under the leadership of Bello Mohammed Matawalle and the security agencies in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges bedeviling the state.
He thanked the Zamfara Police Command for accepting their proposal to embark on the such project and hope other well-to-do individuals would emulate their giant step
