Brigadier General Lawal Bature Muhammad, the former Commandant of Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG), has been announced dead.
He died of a prolonged illness as a result of an injury he sustained through an attack against him while returning to Zamfara through Zamfara State’s border with Katsina State.
The critical nature of his injury influenced his referral to a hospital in Egypt where efforts to secure his life failed.
Governor Dauda Lawal has honored the families of the late CPG Commander in a brief ceremony and assured that his government will do its best to ensure that his effort has been reciprocated.
The funeral prayers for Brigadier General Mohammed were conducted in the Sabon Gari area of Gusau, the state capital, on Thursday evening, and they were attended by dignitaries, security officials, and community members.
