The suspended Council Chairman of Bukkuyum local government, Hon. Umar Faru, has raised an accusing finger on the Ministry for local government and Chieftaincy Matters that out of the federal allocation of N582M received by his local government from the federation account last month only N50M was paid to them for running cost .
Mr. Faru, who handed down the allegations via an interview with the DCL Hausa monitored by this medium, said he wondered why the State House of assembly would invite him to defend an expenditure of N50M when the Ministry for local government that is in possession of over N538M share of his local government will be left behind from accounting for what it has done with the large chunk of the local government funds.
He added that since the inception of the current administration, it has been the usual tradition that the ministry release a token out of the local government funds released to them from the federation account.
He said he is not afraid of any call for accountability as he is not part of those signatories that signed for the withdrawal of local government funds.
