Some suspected gunmen numbering over two hundred had allegedly attacked Bakai village in Zango district of Kankara local government area of Katsina State where over ten people were reported to be killed.

According an online local media Katsina Daily Post the suspected gunmen had earlier written to the residents of Bakarya,  Mununu and Bakai In Faskari that they may possibly launch attack on their respective areas.

The local news medium reported that, the suspected gunmen had earlier on Saturday attacked Bakarya village and killed scores of people while on Sunday the attacked they attacked Bakai a situation that promoted people from other neighbouring villages along the areas to move out of their homes to the neighbouring Funtua and Kankara for their safety.

For months people of Kankara and Faskari have been battling to survive series of attacks by some suspected armed bandits which led to the death of dozens of innocent people with hundred of women and children taking refuge at some designated IDP camps in the state.

Even on Saturday Governor Aminu Bello Masari paid a sympathy visit to some of the IDP camps at Faskari and Dandume where he challenged security agencies to go after the armed bandits who refused to allow peace to reign in the state.
