Suspected armed bandits had launched an attacked on some artisanal miners along Adabka-Mallamawa road in Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara state.
The attack according a home base broadcast journalist Nasiru Musa Adabka in his verified Facebook page took place at around 9:00am on Wednesday
.
He stated in his post that when the local vigilante in the area were notified of the development, they mobilize and confronted the bandits with the aim of rescuing the abductees, but their effort has failed.
He added the bandits laid ambush on the vigilante operatives and killed a total of (12) of them and wounded nine others.
According to his post, (3) members of vigilante from Adabka were killed, (5) from Sabuwar Tungar, (1) from Ganar Kiyawa, (1) from Kuka Duke, (1) each from Dogon Dajin Mai Baka and Gandun Malam.
