The Chairman of the Committee on the prosecution of armed bandits in Zamfara Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi stated that the insecurity in Zamfara is in the increase and that armed bandits are after his life as Chairman of the Committee on Prosecution of Armed Bandits in the state.
Wambai,who stated this during a Press Conference in Gusau on Monday, said so far over eighty suspected armed bandits and their collaborators have been arrested and exhibits were recovered from them.
He noted further that many arms and weapons have been recovered with hundreds of live ammunition currently in the security custody.
He noted that even within the capital city of Zamfara (Gusau) suspects were arrested collaborating with the bandits to supply ammunition and also military uniforms.
He assured that investigation is on and soonest the suspects will be prosecuted accordingly.
Furthermore, he appreciated the Governor for signing the Anti-Kidnapping Law, which provides that kidnappers shall be sentence to death if convicted.
