Some suspected armed bandits invaded Kanya community in Danko Wasagu local government area of Kebbi state where they abducted the district head of the community and nine other people.
The attack also resulted to the killing of one other person while about three people were badly injured and are currently admitted at a health facility.
The incident occurred on Saturday night, according to a confided source.
Among those injured include a woman and two other men (households) who are currently receiving medical treatment.
The source added that residents of Kanya community are currently in a state of fear as a result of the deadly incident.
He added that, the kidnappers are yet to open discussion with the relatives of the abducted family members so that their release can be negotiated.
He added that, during the attack, the bandits did not ask for anything, neither did they stole but only abducted those they targeted and left.
The Police spokesman in Kebbi ASP Nafiu Abubakar has confirmed the incident and stated that when the police received the intelligence about the incident attempt was made to apprehend the bandits but to no avail.
He added that the attack came barely some months after peace had been ensured in that part of the state.
He stated further that, the Kebbi state police command has deployed more personnel to ensure security and safety of the people of the area.
The bandits were alleged to have crossed from Zamfara forest to perfect the abduction.
Kebbi is among the states in the North West that is badly affected by the menace of armed banditry, especially the Zuru axis of the state.
