The personal residence of Maradun local government sole administrator, Hon. Mu’azu Faru has been set on fire by the angry residents of the town at the early hours of Monday.
A source who spoke exclusively to Thunder Blowers on condition of anonymity said, his family house and the new house he is constructing were also set ablaze.
According to him, the residents were aggrieved because of some utterances he allegedly made against the Chairman of the local vigilante group in the area.
The source said, sometimes back the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state Sen. Hassan Nasiha visited Faru village the hometown of the sole administrator for a condolence over armed bandits attack when some people of the town shouted at him and his entourage.
He said the action did not go well with the council sole administrator and as a result, he allegedly threatens to deal with the Chairman of the vigilante whom he accused of masterminding the act.
He added that the last thing that sparked the mob action by the residents was the Monday early morning attack launched by some suspected bandits within the outskirt of the Faru area which resulted the murder of the same leader of the vigilante earlier alleged to be threatened by the council sole administrator .
Faru is a community in Maradun local government area, the hometown of Zamfara Governor Bello Matawalle.
Effort to speak to the police spokesperson on the matter was not successful.
