Former Governor of Zamfara state Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura has stated that closure of the Nigerian borders will always do more harm than good to the Nigerian economy.
The former Governor who stated this during an interview with the BBC Hausa service insisted that, the steps taken by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu of reopening of the Nigerian borders will surely change the narratives, hence economic activities of the people along the borderline states will be revived.
He also stated that the removal of subsidy by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu is surely going to help revive the Nigerian economy, even though the decision might be followed by some hard effects on the typical Nigerians.
He stated further that former President Muhammad Buhari had wanted to apply such steps of suspending the payment of subsidies on petroleum but for some strategic reasons he shifted it to June 2023 even though he knew he was going to exit power by May 29th 2023.
Yarima therefore urged Nigerians to renew their fate in God, pray and be patient since the new economic measures instituted by President Tinubu are meant to change things for the better.
