The Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello OFR, has pledged his support for the Health for Life and Development Foundation’s (HELDEF) hormonal intrauterine device (IUD) scale-up project in Zamfara State.
HELDEF officials, led by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Mamman Hassan and Executive Director Dr. Abubakar Danladi, visited the Emir on April 3, 2025, to seek his endorsement for the project.
During the visit, the Emir was named a grand patron of HELDEF. He expressed his support for the project, emphasizing the importance of family planning.
According to the spokesman of the Ministry for Health Sulaiman Isah the “The Emir commended HELDEF activities in the state and urged the organization to work hard to ensure successful outcome for the current project and expand beyond the state,” a HELDEF statement said.
The Emir reiterated his open-door policy and pledged continued support for HELDEF’s activities, as well as the well-being of the state’s citizens.
