The former Councilor in Tsafe Local government area of Zamfara state Mal. Taminun Yanware who was kidnapped nine months back by some suspected bandits along Tsafe border with Funtua was killed.
He was killed few days back while running to escape from the armed bandits camp along Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state where he spent nine years in captivity.
His friend one Malam Ashiru was also killed few weeks back after suffering from a gunshot wound fired at him in one of the bandit camps at Birnin Gwari forest.
A family source informed Thunder Blowers that, the duo had spent nine months in the hands of their captors, and they were arrested while travelling to Dandume Market in Katsina state.
The source added that the original people who kidnapped the abductees sold them out to one of the popular bandit leader Dogo Gide at the cost of N10M.
It was also reliably gathered that Gide moved them to Birnin Gwari forest, where he maintained a camp.
Mr. Gide asked the relations of the two abductees to pay the sum of N30M as ransom before they can get their relations released.
Thunder Blowers reliably gathered also that the relations of the duo mobilized the sum of N9.2M as well procured brand-new boxer to Gide and his team, but after collecting the proceeds.
“The money was paid on installment of N5M, in the first instance, two million naira in two different instalments as well as N200,000 to the middleman” the source added.
The source added that, one of the abductees Mr. Ashiru died in the hand of the bandits; hence he could not survive the gunshot wounds he sustained.
He added that few weeks after, the former Councilor Tanimun Yanware managed to escape from the bandit camp after air force fighter jet bombarded part of the Birnin Gwari forest.
But the source said he was unable to survive the three days long trip in the forest as he asked other escapees to inform his relations that he will die.
He added that, his dead body was evacuated on Thursday while relations conducted his funeral prayers at Tsafe.
