Governor Bello Matawalle has flagged off the distribution of over (10,730) bags of assorted food items to vulnerable individuals and victims of flooding in the state.
Zamfara state Deputy Governor Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha stood in for the Governor during the flag off exercise.
The initiative was part of the nationwide intervention by the President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari through the Federal Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management led by Sadiya Umar Faruk.
He assured that the gesture will be distributed fairly and ensure that it has reached the target people.
He warned the coordinating agency in the state, especially ZEMA to monitor the distribution and ensure that only the right target are reached out to for the support.
He also enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the gesture to ensure that the right thing is done with the intervention.
