Governor Bello Matawalle has on Wednesday met with the United Nations Deputy Secretary General Amina Muhammad at the United Nations headquarters in New York to discuss on other alternative windows that can be used to support vulnerable and displaced people in Zamfara State.

The Governor who was in company of the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Yazeed Danfulani and former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Sanusi Garba Rikiji discussed extensively on the alternative areas of collaboration between the United Nations and Zamfara State in management of humanitarian crises and conflict management.

During the meeting, Governor Bello Matawalle assured the UN and indeed the global community of his administration’s readiness to end armed banditry and other social conflict that ravaged the state.

Own her part, Mrs Amina thanked the Governor for the visit and assured that UN is already aware of the devastating effect of the social conflict in the state and North West in general and assured that the global body would deploy all options possible to support both the Federal and state government to end the ongoing conflict.

The Governor is also billed to meet other organs of the United Nations as he continues to seek for global support and collaboration to address development challenges facing the stage.

The Governor and his team are scheduled to meet with other United Nationals organs and agencies as he seeks a global collaborative and multi sector approach to addressing the development challenges in Zamfara state.
