Zamfara State Commissioner for Finance has accused the immediate past administration of Governor Yari of diverting the sum of 10 billion naira in the name of payment of contractors at the state University Talatar Mafara.
He made the declaration during a Radio Nigeria Pride FM phone in programme in Gusau on Sunday.
He expressed surprise, the past government can claim that it has spent 10 billion naira in infrastructural work at the State University Talatar Mafara noting that, even at the Federal University Gusau where academic activities are ongoing the sum of 10 billion naira has not been expended by the Federal Government.
He noted that, when he initially raised concern on the issue of the state University few months back opposition sponsored some small boys to be rendering all sort of insult on him but explained that, since the reality is coming out people should be able to judge.
He alleged that, the 10 billion naira claimed to be paid to the University contractors have been deliberately diverted for another purpose best known to the government of that time noting that, if the money was actually paid to the contractors the ongoing projects at the University would have been completed.
