All former Commissioners of the immediate past government of Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar with the exception of Mukhtar Shehu Idris have been served with court  summon in respect of non payment of official vehicles auctioned to them by the past government.

State Commissioner for Finance Rabiu Garba who declared this in a Radio Nigeria Pride FM programme on Sunday said, the money used in the procurement of the vehicles to the Commissioners were part of the proceeds of the refund of the federal roads constructed by the state government under the leadership of Governor Yari.

He expressed concern that, though the vehicles were procured less than four weeks to handing over at the cost of 22 million naira each, the administration of Yari auctioned them for a token of 2 million naira to each of the former Commissioner.

Rabiu said with the exception of the former Finance Commissioner who paid his own 2 million naira because he was to contest for the Governoship position all the Commissioners have failed to pay their own 2 million naira despite several notice and reminders.

He said in order to recover the money the state government has issues them with a court summon and the matter would be followed up to the logical conclusion.
