Some suspected gunmen had abducted a regional accountant of Nigerian Custom Service in charge of Kano and Jigawa in his country home of Tsafe on Friday night.
The accountant who is named Mahasam Awal was kidnapped at night around 9:00pm when he was seated with his family members inside his parlor.
It was reported that at the early hours of Saturday they have called to demand for the payment of (N10M) ransom before taking him to their camp noting that if the (10M) has not been paid until when they took him to their camp the amount to be requested as ransom will be raised high.
A family source said, as at 12:00pm of (today) Saturday they have negotiated for the release of the abductor at (N5M) but they insisted on releasing (N10M) as the last option.
He added that as of 1:00pm, the gunmen have shutdown their phones and the negotiation was off since they cannot be reached any more for discussion.
Police spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
