Residents of Saulawa area in Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state leaves in palpable fear as armed bandits killed eleven members of their communities and rustled away many livestock.
Some eyewitnesses confirmed to the BBC Hausa service that, the bandits assured the residents of the area that, they would soon return to the community.
A survivor who spoke with the BBC said the bandits invaded the community around 5:00am on Saturday and started shooting sporadically, a circumstance which led to the killing of eleven people including a woman.
He said, the funeral prayer of the deceased was conducted at the village cemetery while people panicked in fear of the re-appearance of the bandits.
He added that residents from the neighboring villages participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased amidst fear of another attack.
“The bandits called and assured that, no matter what lost they would suffer they would attack a neighboring village of Saulawa”.
He also told BBC Hausa service that, throughout the period of the attack, there was no security agency that arrived in their community to help them out.
Another woman who loses a husband, her eldest son and four of other relations to the attack said she leaves in anger and agony as she was left with seven number of orphans.
She added that, all their food stuffs and houses were burnt by the bandits during the attack.
