A chinese Nationale named Frank Geng Quangrong who killed his lover Ummukhulsum Sani (ummita) in Kano has on Wednesday opened his defense in court.
He informed the court that he is a Muslim and he is working with a textile company at Kantin Kwari Kano.
He told the court that he met with late Ummita in 2020 after she collected his number from one of her friends where she approached him for a relationship and also promised to marry him.
He told the court that after accepting her offer for friendship she continued to be collecting huge some of money from him.
He added that, “I had been given her whatever she requested from me to the extent that she collected the sum of over N60M throughout the period of our relationship.
He told the court that he bought her a house worth over N4M in Kano.
He stated further that even after she got married she used to call him via whatsapp and to the extent that sometimes she called and informed him that the marriage has collapsed.
He added that sometimes Ummitah called to request for money from him and when he denied her she became provoked.
According to him, her annoyance made her to call and informed him that she has gotten another fiance and she even snapped his picture and forwarded to him.
