The Chairman of the Planning and Implementation Committee on the establishment of Huda University Gusau Dr. Salihu Muhammad has argued that, there is no need for Nigerians to leave the show of Nigeria in the name of educational tourism.
Dr. Salihu who stated this during an interview with journalists in Gusaj said Nigeria has the potentials required to train its citizens to be come educationally productive saying what is required is the commitment from all concern stakeholders.
He said with the appropriate consultations with all the stakeholders including the royal fathers private universities like “Huda” will surely be build to become an additional avenue and training ground for young Nigerians to be educative without traveling out of the country.
On the concern for proliferation of more private universities, Dr. Salisu raised concern that unless the carrying capacity of the government owned universities is increased private universities would be most needed to fill in the gap created by the demand for university education among Nigerians.
He also pointed that the establishment of Huda University will assist in training Zamfara youth to become educated and desist from joining other acts such as armed banditry which is a direct result of ignorance.
He noted that as soon as the accreditation team submit its report the Planning and Implementation Committee will take the most appropriate steps addressing the observations for the University to advertise vacancies for the commencement of academic activities.
