One of the concerns citizen of Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state Abdulrazaq Bello Kaura has raised a serious concern over the lack of functional fire service operational vehicle at the local government area.
Abdulrazaq Bello Kaura who is currently the Zonal Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) who raises the alarm via his verified Facebook post which he personally signed insisted that even though he was the one who announced to the world that after series of public outcries the two fire service operational vehicles domiciled in Kaura have been fixed the story turned out to be wrong.
He said it was later he found out that the vehicles alleged to be repaired were still in bad condition as one of them was returned to Kaura from Gusau with many difficulties late alone be used for fire service operations.
He said he got to know this information after a fire incident that occurred at Yarima Quarters in Kaura Namoda on Saturday when some people informed him that the fire services operational vehicles alleged to be fixed were not functioning again.
Kaura equally called the attention of the Governor of Zamfara Dauda Lawal to investigate what the authorities at the state fire service are doing with the monthly cash allocation given to them by the government.
He highlighted that there is a serious allegation that the cash allocation once paid is being withdrawn through a designated commercial POS operator .
He highlighted that while the state fire service head office, and its affiliate outfits are in need of a serious infrastructural and facilities intervention, the cash allocation is instead diverted for another purpose.
While urging the Governor to come to the aid of Kaura Namoda people in the regard, he also warned the newly posted fire service officer in charge of Kaura to be up and doing to his responsibility as most a time the office facility is abandoned with no single staff on duty.
He also acknowledged the support by Sen. Sahabi Alh. Yau for constructing a functional borehole within the fire service facility to aid them have access to water for their routine operation.
