Nigeria’s Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that laser fever has so far killed a total of (118) people in Nigeria between the month of January and March 2025.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the head of media of the center Sani Datti in Abuja.
According to the statement, (3,465) people from (91) local government areas across (33) states were affected by the fever.
According to the statement, (20) health personnel were among those affected by ailment based on record.
The statement added that (8) among the health workers infected are from Ondo state and (4) from Bauchi,
States such as Taraba, Ebonyi, Gombe and Benue and Ogun have one each of their health personnel affected.
In other to provide emergency response, the center said it has deployed it’s technical team to (10) red-line states, including Kogi, Plateau, Ondo, Edo, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Taraba, Benue, Gombe and Nasarawa.
