The Gusau branch of the Nigerian Barr. association has inaugurated it’s newly elected executives, who are to serve for a period of two years.
They were administered the oath of office by Justice Tukur Gummi and the ceremony was well attended by members of the association and other friends and well-wishers.
Barrister Junaidu Abubakar Esq and Ibrahim Ali Esq were sworn in as Chairman and Secretary of the Association respectively.
Others were Bello Muhammad Galadima, Vice Chairman, Bello Aliyu Gummi, Asst Secretary; Habiba Nuhu Ribadu, Treasurer, Muhd Sani Tahir, Financial Secretary; Ahmad Muhd Abubakar, Welfare Secretary; Surajo Garba Aliyu, Legal Adviser and Siddiq Wakkala as Provost while the position of Social Secretary was allowed Vacant.
In her Remarks, the State Chief Judge, Justice Kulu Isah Aliyu advised the new executives to work closely with their senior colleagues to benefit from their wealth of experiences and called on them to ensure cordial relationship between the Bench (Judiciary) and the Bar (Lawyers).
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman Junaidu Abubakar Esq promised to carry everyone along and to work in accordance with the constitution of the Association to ensure the success of the union.
He also reaffirmed his determination to ensure promotion of the rule of law and human rights protection, and also vowed to work closely with all professional stakeholders within and outside the state.
