New Zamfara State Police Commissioner CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba has assumed office as 35th Commissioner of police in Zamfara.
He takes over from CP MD Shehu who wss elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) redeployed to counterterrorism (CTU) force Headquarters Abuja.
The new police commissioner Maikaba was born in nasarawa LGA of Kano state on 15 February 1968 he attended both primary and secondary schools in Kano state.
He bagged a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Economics, Bayero University, Kano.
CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba Joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
According to the Zamfara police command Public Relations Officer DSP Yazeed Abubakar said, CP Maikaba brings a wealth of experience, having served in multiple commands and strategic positions.
He served as Divisional Crime Officer (DCO),Daura Division, Katsina State, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in several divisions (Kafur, Dandume, Bunkure, Minjibir).
He also served as Commander, Joint Border Patrol Team (Kebbi/Seme Axis), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in various capacities include: Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zonal Criminal Investigation Department (ZCID), Kano, Dc operation Delta State Police Command, Commissioner of Police (CP) Admin, Research & Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja the and later served as Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police Command, Lagos
His exceptional track record in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and inter-agency collaboration informed his posting to Zamfara State.
The new Commissioner of Police pledges to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor, ensuring improved security and community engagement in Zamfara State.
