An APC chieftain in Zamfara State and former member of the Federal House of Representatives Aminu Sani Jaji has declared that Senator Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura was not issued with a new membership card of the APC because his coming to Bakura today was for the purpose campaign rally not revalidation of membership card.
Aminu Jaji who was reacting to questions by journalists in an interview held on Saturday in Gusau said, if Senator Yarima was in Zamfara for membership revalidation he would have been attended to by the officials of the party.
When asked about the supremacy of the party in the state Jaji said, as per the new re-union for the Zamfara APC, it was resolved that former Governor Yari has been made the leader of the party in the state and all the major stakeholders of the party in Zamfara have consented to that decision.
He added that whoever wants to remain in APC as per as Zamfara State is concerned must agree to the fact that Yari is the party leader of the APC adding that such allegiance may not shift for now.
“Leadership is about having the potential to lead people and no matter who you are people must see that potential and identify with you before you are allowed to be a leader. For us, we have picked former Governor Yari as our leader and that position stands” Jaji added.
On whether Senator Yarima is in APC or not, Jaji said as per as he knows Yarima is still in APC since he has not made formal declaration announcing his defection but noted that he too must accept the simple facts that the party is not under his headship but that of Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar because that has been the consensus of the party members.
