OUR STAND
The recent development leading to the murder of Armed Bandit’s leader Dan-Isuhu is received with welcome celebration as people residing along Tsafe axis of Zamfara including commuters plying Funtua-Tsafe road knows and some remembers much about his brutality against innocent civilians which lasted for years.
His killing will no doubt bring a serious relief and improve the level of public confidence in peace that has been regains over time.
As for our conventional and non-conventional security operatives that lost their lives to the tragedy, we prayed for their eternal souls to rest in peace.
However, the victory secured against Dan-Isuhu is just a beginning as the government needs to strengthen its machinery in fighting another segment of the bandits group operating along Anka and Bukkuyum.
The condition of security along that area is seriously deteriorating and citizens of Zamfara along that area required government serious presence with the zeal to ending their sufferings head-on.
We learned that, there is a massive deployment of security operatives along the area, it is a good step but the momentum needed to be sustained beyond temporary measures.
The manner in which our gallant members of the CPG and local vigilantes were killed recently was dehumanizing and brought a serious setback to the effort of the government in restoring peace in the entire States.
Some information received by this medium indicates that recently the road linking Mayanchi through Anka to Gummi has almost became not motor able due to consistent bandit harassment.
It is our hope that new measures that would lead to some offensive operations against bandit groups operating along Anka and Bukkuyum would be launched soonest.
Again in alternative, the calls made by the Federal lawmakers for Gummi/Bukkuyum Engr. Sulaiman Gummi of providing additional military reinforcement shall be revisited.
There is also the need for reconsideration of communities around Shinkafi too because some pockets of crises happening in the area fecently shows that something serious and urgent need to be done to provide relief to these very important people of Zamfara.
They have been suffering in the hand of the bandit criminals and their suffering needs to be brought to an end.
Areas around Rijiya and Mada also required more clear intervention, as the bandits roundly pushed harder to pressure the citizens around these areas. Payment of ransom and spates of kidnapping incidents in these areas are becoming alarming.
Last week was a top one for people of Mada and also for those from Rijiya axis and the development is getting out of hand. The government needs to see things in a more different ways.
We have to acknowledge the fact that the security situation is improving in the rest part of the state and that singular efforts have to be acknowledged in order to boost the morale of both the government and security forces.
We pray for peace to continue to reign in Zamfara State and Nigeria by extension.
