An APC chieftain in Zamfara Alh Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has declared that Governor Bello Matawalle and his supporters are ready to draw a battle line with Abdulazeez  Yari and Sen. Kabiru Marafa if they continue to raise a division line in the APC.

Wamban Shinkafi who stated this during a media briefing in Gusau on Thursday said, the party leadership should not hesitate in taking appropriate measures aimed at dealing with the former Governor and Senator Kabiru Marafa for disrespect to the constituted authorities.

He said, it was surprising that after the acting national chairman of the caretaker committee of the APC Mai Mala Buni announced the dissolution of the state caretaker committee in Gusau, former Governor Yari and senator Marafa stood their ground to challenge the decision of the National Working Committee describing the development as deliberate attempt to cause division within the party.

Wambai further said, it was unfortunate that Yari himself during the reception ceremony of the Zamfara Governor in Gusau on Tuesday announced that he has no issue with the defection of Matawalle since he cannot come back to Zamfara and contest for Governor again but noted that immediately Yari returned to Kaduna he has aligned with other disgruntled politicians like Sen. Marafa and turned themselves to political rebels.

He described as unethical for the former Governor and Senator Marafa to go back to Kaduna and launched attacks against President Muhammadu Bubari and national officers of the party just to cause breakdown of law and order in the state.

He called on the national Chairman of the Caretaker Committee Mai Mala Buni to as a matter of urgency constitute a disciplinary committee to ascertain the extent of their disregard to the constitution of the party and punish them appropriately.

He also called on the acting national chairman  not to waste time in exercising his constitutional right of expelling Yari and Marafa for disregarding the party decision.

He also advised that all those that assembled in Kaduna together with the former Governor should also be punished according to the provision of the party constitution.

He cited article 9 (2) and article 21 of the constitution of the APC to strengthen his arguments noting that for anybody to feel he is more superior as the constitution of the party that member shall be expelled.

He insisted that what happened in Zamfara in 2019 would not repeat itself if that was the intention of the former Governor and his o-travellers calling on the Governor Matawalle not to fold his hands and allow the disgruntled politicians to cause security havoc in Zamfara.

Wamban Shinkafi also called on the security operatives in Zamfara to put Yari and Marafa on watch list noting that they would not be allowed to cause the breach of law and order in the state.
