Zamfara state lawmaker who moved a motion for the suspension of two of his colleagues Hon Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma has alleged that he had raised alarm demanding for the suspension of his colleagues because they have demonstrated some suspicious characters.
Kanoma who spoke exclusively to Thunder Blowers on Tuesday said, when the father of Zamfara Speaker was abducted there were evidences that the two lawmakers were seen jubilation over the tragic incident.
He further said when they were asked to come forward and take the “Oath of self distancing” in line with the new commitment of the Governor, the two lawmakers disappeared.
He said the idea of suspending them was to give room for independent investigation of their telephone conversations and other people they are relating with.
On the allegation by Hon Yusuf Anka that their suspension is in connection with their recent move to impeach Zamfara Speaker, Kanoma said, to the best of his knowledge, he is not aware of any impeachment move as a lawmaker noting that, unless if they are planning to impeach the speaker outside the house of assembly complex he can confirm that there was no such move.
He said since the house has done what is necessary and refer the matter to the house committee on ethics and privilege, Zamfara people would know the truth soonest.
