Suspected armed bandits have invaded Sabon Gida community in Bungudu local government area of Zamfara state and killed one Hon Tukur Hassan Sabon Gida at the early hours of Thursday.
According to a source, the deceased was attacked by the suspected gunmen around 12:00am at his personal residence and he was shot to death by the bandits without tempering with any of his family members.
Tukur Hassan was a former councilor who represented Sankalawa-Sabon gida ward in Bungudu local government area of Zamfara state.
He was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but could not survive the gunshots, according to a source.
He was buried in the early hours of Thursday amidst sorrow and tears by family members, friends and well-wishers.
The location of Sabon Gida is basically less than five kilometers from Damba residential quarters, the location where one Babangida Damba a politician and chieftain of All Progressive Congress was attacked and his wife and a baby boy equally abducted in less than 24 hours to the recent incident.
Sabon Gida is the community where Federal University Gusau is housed, which is located along Gusau-Zaria road.
Effort to speak to Zamfara police spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad failed as at the time of filing this report.
