Armed gunmen invaded one of the government housing estates in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara in the late hours of Tuesday and invaded the private residence of one of the political associates of Zamfara former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Hon. Babangida Damba.
The operation, which lasted for half an hour, left the politician with a gunshot wound while his wife and her eight-month-old child were abducted to an unknown destination.
One of the residents of the area who spokes to this medium said, the gunmen who were four in their number armed with weapons breaks through in to the personal residence of the politician around 12:00 at night, conducted their operation, shot him in the hand and took away his wife and a child.
“As at 12:45am today sound of gunshots were ringing on the air as the gunmen kept firing shots to scares the residents” the source added.
The politician according to the source was immediately rushed to the hospital that late hours of the night for medical attention while sympathizers had already started coming to commiserate with him over the unfortunate incident.
Effort to speak to the Police Spokes persons over the incident failed as at the time of filing this report.
