Zamfara Child Protection Network a non governmental organisation demand for immediate reopening of boarding Secondary Schools in Zamfara even as they urged the state government to punish those bandits responsible for the abduction of schools girls in Zamfara.
In a statement by the Chairman of the network Bachiri Sarkin Fulani said those schools located in a most vulnerable places should be converted to day schools for the interim time.
The group said, the government should also take the most appropriate step of providing enough security for the schools.
They also said the bandits if arrested should be dealt with unconditionally to serve as deterrent to others.
“The despicable action of the bandits is an intolerable and unpardonable crime which must be tactically confronted by any responsible government and other relevant security agencies to save the lives of the terrified students from undue agony of captivity which they are now suffering” the group added.
The group further said it has become worrisome how the bandits strikes at many cities in Northern Nigeria, abduct people freely with out security age cues taking the most appropriate steps of curtailing the situation noting that government and security agencies need to wake up and face the reality.
While commending the effort of Governor Matawalle for his effort aimed at minimizing security challenges confronting the state they urged his administrator do more especially by reviewing the strategies used by the government “peace accord”.
