At the closing of the prehearing session of the Zamfara Governorship Election Petition Tribunal holding in Sokoto on Saturday, the tribunal has ordered Bello Muhammad Matawalle and APC to prepare their witnesses for commencement of cross-examination by Friday the 23rd of June 2023.
The tribunal also resolved that cross-examination of the APC witnesses will last through Saturday the 24th of June 2023 and Monday 26th of June 2023.
After the Monday proceeding, the tribunal resolved that it will proceed for Sallah break and resume sitting on the 3rd of June 2023 for continuation of the cross-examination of the APC witnesses up to the 14th of July 2023.
The period allocated is inclusive of the cross-examination of witnesses to be subpoenaed by the APC.
At the last adjourned date, APC stated its intention to bring (35) witnesses for cross-examination exclusive of those to be subpoenaed by the tribunal.
By 15th of July 2023 Dauda Lawal will open his defense and begin to call his witnesses for cross-examination and later the PDP and INEC.
