Zamfara state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Mukhtar Muhammad Darma has approved the setting up of an interim management committee saddled with the responsibility of managing the affairs of Zamfara Urban and Regional Planning Board (ZUREPB).
This is contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry, Mal. Kabiru Yusuf and issued to journalists in Gusau on Monday.
The statement said, Town Planner Attahiru Mu’azu Gusau is to head the interim management committee, Ibrahim Samaila Shinkafi, Nasiru Sulaiman Anka, Sulaiman Abubakar and Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bungudu are to serve as the members of the interim committee while Usman Abubakar Maradun is to serve as the Secretary of the committee.
The constitution of the Interim Management Committee according to the statement followed the enforcement of the executive order no (37) which was issued to the ministry and office of the SSG by the members of the state house of assembly.
The order instructed the Secretary to the state government of Zamfara to withdraw all non-professional staffers deployed to the board while Commissioner of Housing and Town Planning was also ordered to withdraw all his professional staff from the board pending the completion of the ongoing investigation by the committee on Public Account which is headed by the Deputy Speaker Musa Bawa Tsafe.
