Zamfara police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana says ten of the people abducted by some suspected gunmen at the early hours of Wednesday in Gada community of Zamfara state have been rescued and reunited with their families.
The Police Commissioner who addressed Press conferences on Wednesday said the rescue of the victims was perfected as a result of the joint effort of police Tactical team, the military, and members of the vigilante.
He said the joint tactical team was able to disperse the hoodlums and restore normalcy in the area.
Among the rescued victims include a one-year-old baby who was abducted along with her mother.
It could be recalled that at the early hours of today some suspected gunmen invaded Gada town, killed the district head and four others and also set ablaze the residential house of the monarch.
