A prominent preacher in Zamfara Mal. Umar Hassan Gusau has announced that, some powers that be in Zamfara have petitioned him at the state police command in Gusau over allegations he has not clearly stated.
The Islamic scholar who announced this in a video that went viral on the social media said, time has come for him to speak out the level of threats he has been facing since the commencement of this year’s Ramadan Tafsir.
He said in the video that two officials of the state government, including the Deputy Governor invited him over issues bordering on his preaching.
He also alleged that he was invited over the same issue by the State Director of SSS, and now he received another invitation from the state police commissioner.
The Ulama Consultative Council UCC has invited me, state Director of SSS invited me on same issue and now there is an invitation from the state police commissioner over what”? The Cleric asked.
“What am I saying which is not truth, I swear to God almighty I am not scared of anyone apart from God almighty”.
“they have advised that my Friday prayer mosque shall be closed by the government, they have also advised that my preaching license shall be revoked by the preaching commission but take note of this I am not scared of anyone in Zamfara”.
“If anyone advised that I shall not be taken to prison, he is wrong morally. I have been avoiding these threats, but now it is time for me to react”.
“Go to Sokoto and see how clerics are saying things the way they are and nothing happened to them but here in Zamfara when has the situation changed so bad that no one can say the truth in the mosque and at the preaching grounds”.
