I could not believe the video clip I watched having a suspected thug making confessional statements that he was ordered by the Zamfara PDP gubernatorial candidate to set any vehicle branded with the APC logo on fire!!!.
I think this is too primitive for a politician of the 21st century to be asking political supporters to go violent and be setting public assets including vehicles of a political opponents on fire.
Now that the confession was made before the police, people may watch and see what action the police would take to show deterrent to others.
PDP should understand that politics is seen as a popular game which is driven by the popular will of the people, not by violent means.
History is not selfish, and because someone is desperate does not mean he can break the rules and continue to cause breakdown of law and order simply because he realized that he is at the losing end.
The two major rallies conducted by Dauda Lawal and PDP came up with serious problem. During the first one innocent persons, about (18) of them were allegedly shot with live bullets allegedly by the PDP thugs.
During the second one armed political thugs were allegedly hired by a PDP Senatorial candidate in Zamfara simply in order to trigger crises and not until when they were arrested by the Anti Thuggery committee many innocent traders along the highway had suffered in the hand of these thugs.
The rally conducted by the PDP gubernatorial candidate last Monday was allegedly marred by serious political rascality. Innocent commuters were forced to join the political convoy of the PDP governorship candidate, while many had their personal telephones snatched by the PDP thugs.
I think the security agencies need to sit up and ensure that the alleged political impunity to be enforced by the PDP gubernatorial candidate is put on stop.
I think avoiding a problem does not translate to an act of cowardice. It is my humble opinion that the security agencies need to act with speed and reminded the PDP and its gubernatorial candidate in Zamfara that, the days of “political impunity” are over, and the game should be played according to the rules
We are awaiting the prosecution of the thug arrested to serve as deterrent to others.
