Zamfara state police command has declared that it has strengthened synergy with correctional authority to securing all the correctional facilities across the state to avert breakdown of law and order.
Spokespersons of the police in the state, SP Shehu Muhammad stated this when he featured on the Thunder Blowers TV show “Zamfara in Focus” on Friday.
SP Shehu said, considering what occurred at Kuje correctional center, the state Police command has to be proactive in taking steps that would strengthen security measures around all the correctional facilities in the state.
He said the Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana had personally paid a visit to Gusau correctional facilities and met with the state comptroller where active security measures were put in place to safeguard all the correctional facilities statewide.
He assured that security agencies, especially police, would be alive to their responsibility by making sure that the safety of these correctional facilities are ensured.
