The recent debate generated by an online publication on political landscape permutations as it’s relates to the 2027 political calculations concerning governorship election in Zamfara State has compelled various reactions, rejoinders and responses from various party stakeholders, interest groups and individuals.
Actually, the Newspaper is just trying to assert itself as the fourth pillar of democracy by setting agenda, checkmating governance and ensuring robust reportage and debates concerning governance and polity.
ZANNAH Political Network (Zapnet) as an interested party and one of the strongest bodies promoting the personality in question is of the opinion that Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu is a force to reckon with when talking about the future political leaders of Zamfara State and most likely the person to rule the state in 2027 in-sha-Allah.
Zapnet is a political organization formed by intellectuals and professionals from diverse professional background ranging from medical doctors, lawyers, engineers, development consultants, media professionals and entrepreneurs among others.
Zapnet is advocating for good leadership, good governance and development in Zamfara and is galvanizing resources to achieve this aim without compromised. Zapnet has resolved to use all possible means at it’s disposal in collaboration with like-minded individuals and groups to ensure Zannah has emerged as the next governor of Zamfara State based on his quality, competency and suitability among other reasons.
The State Coordinator, Zapnet, Alhaji Mannir Ibrahim said, looking at the other contenders like Senator Kabiru Marafa, Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji and even the former Governor and current Minister of Defense, His Excellency, Bello Matawallen Muradun, non of them has the public appeal, popularity and wide acceptance like Zannan Bungudu.
Also, corroborating this assertion. the State Secretary General and the founder of Zapnet, Engr. Buhari Ibrahim said in an interview during the weekend that who ever is downplaying the relevance of Zannah in the political landscape of Zamfara State ahead 2027 is not being honest to himself and to the good people of the state.
Engr. Buhari maintained that they have consulted widely among people of Zamfara and even conducted an opinion poll on their website online and discovered that the man is leading not only among youths, students women but even among the elites and the elderly. He therefore, concluded that Zannah is not only a threat to the other contenders within his political party but a potential and formidable threat to the incumbent government under Dr. Dauda Lawal.
The fact that it is on record this refined gentleman, Zannah has never for once solicited or declare his intention to contest for a Governorship seat in the state and he has since denied being a threat to the Honourable Minister and urged for peace in the party as he remains loyal to his seniors and benefactor, the wind of change and the hurricane is being propelled by people of the state yearnings for peace, good governance and development which they realized was denied to them deliberately by few selfish elites who are bent on satisfying their greed and whimsical caprices to the detriment of the larger population who are at the recieving end of these consequences.
Hon. Sulaiman Usman Zumunchi, an APC Chieftain and Chairman Zannah Steering Committee in Gusau Local Government while reacting to the development was quoted to have said as his response to the publication as follows; “Really the Author got it completely wrong, how I wish he verified his writing before publication,
what we need now in Zamfara APC is how best to cement our relationship with all the stakeholders,
Surely Zannah has a very strong relationship with all the Leaders in APC, it’s time for peace in the party for the avoidance of the 2019 era.
Zumunchi added by saying this prayer “May Almighty Allah made it easy for Zannah in all ramifications to be our flag bearer and subsequently the next Governor of our state insha Allahu.
Aligning with the view of the publisher, in a telephone chat I had with him over the weekend, Dr. Anas Anka, insisted that they are merely exercising their constitutional rights based on the information available on ground. His paper has aired it’s view and that they welcome criticism or contrary opinion and ready to partner with all for the progress of the state.
On a final note, Zapnet is sending a strong signal that in 2027 it will not be business as usual. The organisation is all out to be on the Frontline of ensuring good leadership and is prepared to challenge anybody going against this direction as the state and the people had suffered for too long as such ready to take their destiny in their hand.
Available records and information available to Zapnet indicates that this refined young man to the highest order, a philanthropist and vibrant leader full of hope and developmental ideas capable of altering the status quo, is sincere in his approach to governance looking at his antecedents and the giant strides in the current position he is holding at the national assembly. As such, we would be solidly behind him with our knowledge and resources, infact, in all ramifications to ensure his victory in 2027.
