The lawmaker blamed government agencies charged with the responsibility of securing state urban and regional planning as responsible for the unwanted attitude.

Members during the plenary supported the motion and contributed to the debate as they urged the house to take a decision in ensuring that such attitude has been stopped.

According to the house Spokesperson Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, after extensive deliberation, Speaker Nasir Magarya who presided over the session mandated the house standing committee on land housing and town planning to investigate the issues raised and report back to the house within two months.

The speaker further announced that the committee members are given eight terms of references, among which include, determine the existence of Gusau master plan and strategic infrastructural plan and identify whether the master plan had been adhered to since the creation of the state.

The committee is to also examine the number of agencies involved in the management and administration of lands, and also the reason for the evolution of illegal structures within the government reserved areas.

The committee is to also identify agencies involved in the alleged land racketeering, identify how illegal Street naming evolved, and also recommend to the house measures to be taken to address the problem.
