Zamfara state Governor has declared that the state does not need a formal camp for the internally displaced persons, instead he called for support to end the activities of armed bandits and also reconstruction of their destroyed settlements.
The Governor who made this known when he received the federal government delegation who visited the state for a sympathy visit said the state government is happy with the way the president gives considerate attention to the socio-economic crises of the state.
The Govenor explained to the delegation that since his inception, he has tried as much as possible to provide operational vehicles to the security agencies, accommodation, and their monthly operational allowances.
He also explained that his administration has taken strong measures to end the insecurity, especially by shutting down markets, banning the use of motorcycles, and control the movement of food stuffs and other utensil within the state.
He called on the federal government to provide additional operational vehicles for the security agencies to be able to carry out their statutory function effectively.
He also expressed the need for the Northern state governors to meet again and strategize to get the security challenges addressed
