Zamfara State Deputy Governor Mahadi Aliyu Gusau has declared that he is ready to resign his appointment if the Governor is ready to take the vow of honor and tender his resignation letter as promised.
The deputy governor who gave the commitment on Wednesday through a statement signed by the PDP Publicity Secretary Abba Bello said since Governor Matawalle has stated the only reason stopping him from resigning from his position of State Executive Governor is the constitutional provision that will automatically transfer power to the “son of Ali Gusau” a term he used in describing his Deputy Governor.
Mahadi who spoke at the emergency executive committee meeting of the PDP held on Wednesday “described the Governor’s utterances as mere grandstanding and another attempt to further play on the collective intelligence of Zamfara people.
The statement went further to express the readiness of the State Deputy Governor to tender his resignation alongside that of the Governor as his sacrifice towards bringing an end to the prevailing state of misrule that has become the hallmark of the Matawalle administration.
He further advice Governor Matawalle to concentrate on planning his life after retirement which is fast approaching
