Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board has ordered the contractor handling the construction of a block of class room, office facility and a store to suspend the work as a result of the public outcry over poor condition of the work and lack of strict adherence to the contract specification.
The Executive Chairman of the Board Abubakar Aliyu Maradun who gave the order during an assessment visit to the project sites noted that, the board will not relent in suspending any contractor who is accused of executing a poor quality job.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the board Samaila Labaran Dashi noted that, the Chairman urged all Members of School Based Management Committee (SBMC) to join hand with the site engineers in monitoring all the projects in their respective domains.
The ZEUBE Chairman also directed ZNA Nigeria Limited, MABASFA Logistic LTD, Takobin Allah Company Limitee to effect all the technical observations raised in respect of the projects they are handling as the board will not relent to stopping them when the need arises.
