Reports indicated that some suspected members of Boko Haram had abducted scores of people including males and females at Ngala the neighboring border state with Cameroon.
Independent Sources confirmed that the estimate of those abducted may be up to one hundred people inclusive of women and children.
“It was confirmed that about 200 of the members of one of the IDP Camps went to the forest searching for firewood, but about 113 were abducted by suspected Boko Haram members”.
Some media outlets reported that those kidnapped were over 300 and if the figure stands it will be the highest in the country since after the abduction of the Chibok girls.
The victims were abducted, according to some sources, when they went to the outskirt of the Ngala town to gather firewood.
The news of the abduction of these people was not made known to the public until Tuesday due to poor communication network and lack of good access road.
The recent incident came barely a few hours after Borno State government insisted that close to 95% of those with Boko Haram ideologies are not alive.
For over ten years Nigeria has been fighting the brutality of Boko Haram insurgency which resulted in the killing of over 40,000 people while over 2 million others became homeless.
Authorities are yet to release the official figure of those killed in the attack.
