A state high court in Kaduna has declared that the state Public Complaint and Anti Corruption Commission, led by Barr. Muhuyi Magaji has no power to invite the former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for questioning or open an investigation on the leaked dollar video.

Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman delivered the judgment in a suit filed by the former Kano Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje against Kano State Public Complaint and Anti Corruption Commission.

Former Governor Ganduje dragged the commission to court in July 2023 after its Chairman Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado invited him for questioning.

The court has issued an injunction restraining the commission from questioning Ganduje pending determination of the substantive matter.

In 2018, Daily Nigerian newspapers released a video clip that went viral over the social media platforms showing the former Governor of Kano State now national chairman of the APC allegedly collecting dollar from a contractor.

But the former Governor denied the allegation as reported by daily Nigerian newspaper.

Lawyer to the Kano State Anti Corruption Commission, Barr. Usman Fari said it took the court longer time to determine the matter, but he was since asked to appeal the judgment.

Barr. Mathew Burkaa SAN said the Tuesday judgment has reaffirmed their position that the commission does not have power to investigate his client.
