A political analyst and development expert Salisu Isah Gusau has warmed the members of the Senate to desist from coming up with another ‘political tricks’ that are capable of undermining the legislative transformation agenda under the Senate President, Mr. Godswill Akpabio.
Gusau who handed over the warning via a statement issues to newsmen on Wednesday insisted that Northern Youths will stand firm in defense of democracy and indeed Send. Akpabio if those he calls ‘mischief makers’ within the Northern Senators insisted in proceeding with their underground agenda of Impeaching the Senate President.
He said at this trying moment in Nigerian history, federal lawmakers, especially Senators are expected to team up with the Senate leadership in supporting the other arms of the government to rid the country out of this condition of hardship.
He noted that it was obvious that some over-ambitious politicians within the Senate are trying to capitalize on the statement credited to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio In causing confusion within the Senate.
He regretted further that Senators are expected to use their vast experience in supporting the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio which aimed at providing quality legislation for democracy in Nigeria to prosper.
He expressed shock that despite the effort put in place by the leadership of the Senate under Mr. Akpabio, some senators are being manipulated to embark on a journey of “Impeachment of the Senate President”.
He lambasted those criticizing the leadership of the Senate under Akpabio as “enemies of democracy and good governance” in the country.
He reaffirmed that Northern Youth groups and indeed all other concern pro-democrats in Nigeria will work tirelessly to challenge these unpatriotic senators, describing their move as “dead-on-arrival”.
