The National leader of New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has accused some powers within the Federal government of attempting to instigate crises in Kano using the pending emirate council crisis as the baseline.
Kwankwaso who stated this in an interview with the BBC Hausa service Wednesday alleged that the steps taken by those he described as “enemies of Kano” were to perfect their plan of enforcing state of emergency in the state.
But he said such plan will hit the brick wall hence the government of Abba Kabir Yusuf has remained focus in providing the most needed dividends of democracy to the people of Kano.
But in a swift reaction, the Presidential spokesman Abdulaziz Abdulaziz expressed shock that a prominent personality like Kwankwaso can raise a baseless allegation that had never come to the imagination of the federal government.
He denied the allegations raised by Kwankwaso that some people are using federal government as a cover in perfecting a plan to push for imposition of the state of emergency in Kano.
He stated further that the Kano emirate crisis is currently before the court and therefore parties needs to stay action by awaiting the outcome.
He also stated that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu is a traditional titleholder and maintain cordial relationship with the two aggrieved parties.
